Scotland Over 70

In their first ever major tournament, Scotland Senior Grand Masters claimed the bronze medal at Southgate after a 2-1 win against Germany on the final day of the tournament in the 3rd/4th place final. Many of the players were in the previous Scotland side to win a European bronze medal, in the Over 60 competition in Italy. Netherlands won the gold medal, triumphing 2-1 in a penalty shoot out after they had drawn 1-1 with England in the final. Scotland were in a single pool with England, Germany and Netherlands.

After the pool stage was completed, Scotland were in fourth place and placed first placed team England for the second day in a row to decided the first finalist. They made it hard for England but the Auld Enemy came out on top 2-0. Netherlands finished second and played third placed team Germany and once again the pool positions were maintained, Netherlands claiming a place in the final while Germany were left to face Scotland to decide third and fourth places. Scotland finally found their scoring touch to win Bronze, goals from Bremner and Weir taking them 2-0 clear before Germany pulled one back with a disputed goal three minutes from time. Netherlands beat England after a penalty shoot out in the final, which had ended 1-1.
